Update:September 2020

Update:September 2020!

Argentina:

We are so excited to announce our program in Argentina is moving to a bigger place! This will allow us to take on more families, feed more children and provide school support for our kids in a much bigger and comfortable environment.

As you can see, the place is going to need some upgrades and we’ll keep you posted on ways you can contribute to that.

Argentina has been under a complete shutdown since the end of March, which is making the economic situation even more difficult than it was before the pandemic. 20for20 has been deemed an “essential program” which has allowed us to keep feeding our kids and to keep providing emotional and spiritual support during these trying times.

We also have officially started our partnership with the local college. Through our partnership, college students in the nutrition and health programs can now serve as interns at Manitos Solidarias (our name in Argentina). This will allow us to keep better track of the health and nutrition of each child, as well as dramatically increase the number of mentors and volunteers in our program.

Guatemala:

Through our partnership with Top Of The Lake Coffee, Gus had the opportunity to meet two women from Casa Flor Ixcaco Women’s Cooperative, Miriam and Delphina. After sharing with them about what we are doing in Argentina, Miriam and Delphina expressed their interest in starting a similar program in their village, San Juan la Laguna. Gus was planning to visit Guatemala to continue this conversation in the Spring of 2020 but was deterred by Covid-19.

As a way of helping this community that was hit hard economically because of Covid-19 (they rely on the revenue produced by tourism), we said yes to financially helping Casa Flor build a chicken coup. Eggs are being sold to solidify the financial foundation for community   development projects.

We look forward to seeing how this partnership unfolds and Gus looks forward to being able to visit Guatemala after the pandemic.

Thank you for partnering with us to make 20for20 a reality!

None of this would be possible without your continued support. We realize these are difficult times for everyone and want you to know that your generosity has not gone unnoticed.
